The School of Clinical Medicine wishes to appoint a Data Lifecycle Project Manager to join their Research Governance team. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced and motivated individual to take a lead role in establishing routes for turning highly valuable research data assets into sustainable data products that could be better utilised both internally and by external researchers.
Clinical School researchers collect and generate an enormous amount of research data which is stored across various University IT platforms and cloud systems. On completion of a specific research project there are few resources to maintain and access these data assets further for the benefit of other researchers both within and external to the University. In essence few of these research datasets are FAIR (Findable, Accessible, Interoperable, Reusable).
This fixed term full-time role will actively look at data sets held across the Clinical School, liaise with Cambridge University Hospitals (CUH) Research & Development team, the Clinical School Research Governance team and the Research Office to put together a policy and manual for researchers to enable these collated data sets to be sustainably managed throughout the data lifecycle and FAIR.
The role sits within the University Clinical Governance team but will require close liaison with the University Research Operations Office, the School of Clinical Medicine Computing Service (CSCS) and the University Information Services (UIS) within the University. The role holder will also need to liaise with other institutions on the Biomedical Campus including CUH R&D, Cambridge and Peterborough Foundation Trust R&D office and Cambridge University Health Partners.
Fixed-term: The funds for this post are available for 12 months in the first instance.
Once an offer of employment has been accepted, the successful candidate will be required to undergo a basic disclosure (criminal records check) check.
