About the Role
ThinkHigher is a partnership of several stakeholders and are externally funded by the Office for Students on an annual basis. We work at pace and enjoy developing and managing evidence-led projects from start to finish within the academic year. We work with schools, colleges, universities, local authorities, businesses, charities and grassroots movements, such as Boys’ Impact.
This role as Projects Coordinator is central to the day-to-day coordination of ThinkHigher, supporting the effective planning, delivery and oversight of a range of projects and activities. The role will have oversight of projects including Univenture, BLCK Space and Beyond Space, working with colleagues and partners to support their effective delivery and development. The role will also contribute to communications, financial administration, monitoring and evaluation and stakeholder engagement across ThinkHigher.
The day-to-day work is varied and involves working with a wide range of partners and managing changing priorities. You may also be required to contribute directly to the delivery of projects and activities. We meet as a full team a couple of days per week to ensure a strong teamwork ethic and appreciate the benefits of working from home or other third spaces to allow for deep working or flexible hours to fit around caring responsibilities.
For details on the experience and skills required, please refer to the job description (link here).
About You
You are an organised and proactive project coordinator who can manage a varied workload and keep track of multiple priorities and deadlines. You will have experience of coordinating projects and will be confident working with a wide range of stakeholders, including colleagues in universities and colleges, local authorities, schools and other partner organisations.
You will have strong numerical and IT skills, with experience of working with spreadsheets, databases and financial information. You will be able to interpret data accurately and use it to produce clear reports and information for stakeholders. Experience of financial systems such as SAP and/or Higher Education Access Tracker (HEAT) would be particularly useful.
You will be able to communicate clearly and professionally, both verbally and in writing, and will be confident producing written content for different audiences. You will also be able to work independently, use your initiative and take a practical and creative approach to solving problems while maintaining a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
An understanding of higher education and widening participation is essential, as is the ability to build positive working relationships across organisational boundaries. Experience of working in higher education, schools or colleges, the public sector or a not-for-profit organisation would be valuable.
You will be passionate about equality of opportunity for young people and motivated by the opportunity to contribute to work that supports young people to make ambitious and well-informed choices about their futures.
Above all, you will be someone who enjoys working collaboratively, is willing to get involved in a broad range of activities and can adapt quickly when priorities change.
