About the Role
Queen Mary University of London is seeking an ambitious, innovative Head of Estates Digital to lead the strategic development of digital systems, data, analytics, and technology across the Estates and Facilities Directorate.
Reporting to the Associate Director of Digital, Sustainability and Space Management, you will provide strategic leadership for the university's estates systems portfolio, data governance, business intelligence and digital transformation agenda. You will lead the ongoing development of the Integrated Workplace Management System (IWMS) and wider digital estate ecosystem, ensuring data, technology and analytics support operational excellence, compliance, sustainability and evidence-based decision-making.
Working closely with colleagues across Estates and Facilities, IT Services and the wider university, you will identify opportunities to leverage automation, artificial intelligence, smart building technologies and advanced analytics to improve performance and enhance the campus experience. You will also lead a specialist team responsible for estates systems, data analytics and business intelligence, driving innovation and continuous improvement across the directorate.
About You
You will be a strategic, collaborative leader with substantial experience delivering digital transformation, systems development, data governance, analytics, or business intelligence within a complex organisation. You will have a proven ability to develop digital strategies, lead high-performing teams and influence stakeholders at all levels.
You will possess excellent communication skills and be able to translate complex technical and analytical concepts into clear, actionable insights. Experience of enterprise systems, technology suppliers, reporting platforms such as Power BI, and data-driven service improvement is essential. Experience within Estates, Facilities, Property, Infrastructure, Public Sector or Higher Education environments would be advantageous.
About the Directorate
The Estates and Facilities Directorate is one of the largest professional services directorates within the university, responsible for providing safe, sustainable and effective environments that support learning, research and student wellbeing.
