What makes Goldsmiths unique?
Goldsmiths is a world-renowned university that has a reputation for rigorous and innovative academic work; creativity has long been our hallmark. Academic excellence and imaginative course content combine to make a place where creative minds can thrive.
About the department
The department is Employability, Entrepreneurship & Graduate Outcomes (EEGO). EEGO sit within the Student and Academic Services Directorate, who lead the development of outstanding student facing services, enabling every single student to go on to achieve outstanding student outcomes.
EEGO support Goldsmiths uniquely creative students and graduate to progress into Highly Skilled Outcomes, including Employment, Further Study and Entrepreneurial destinations – supporting students to develop the skills, experience and opportunities needed to make this transition.
About the role
The role holder is responsible for improving progression into professional employment and further study for a defined cohort of final-year students and recent graduates. Working within the Graduate Outcomes team, the postholder will provide proactive, personalised and outcomes-focused support that enables students and graduates to plan their next steps, complete high-quality applications, prepare effectively for selection processes and progress towards positive destinations. The role requires sustained, direct engagement with students and graduates, particularly those identified as being at greater risk of poor outcomes. The postholder will use data, insight and relationship-building to prioritise support, increase engagement, connect individuals with relevant employers and further study pathways, and evidence progress against agreed targets, activity measures and outcome indicators.
About the candidate
You will be part of a small team, working alongside other Graduate Outcome Leads. It is anticipated you will work closely with students and academics from some of the Creative programmes across Goldsmiths including Arts, Media, Communications, Music, Design, Theatre and Performance. A background in the Creative Sectors or experience of supporting students from across such areas would be of great value. The ability to design and deliver compelling and impactful careers activities while being guided by data, labour market trends and the goals of the careers service and wider institution will be key. As part of a small team, having a flexible approach to work and a positive, pro-active attitude will be of strong importance, as will the ability to build effective relationships with academic colleagues and to support students and graduates in an empathetic and inclusive manner.
Benefits
We have generous benefits – an agile working environment, 28 days’ annual leave plus six paid closure days (four at Christmas and two at Easter) plus all Bank Holidays, great transport links, a defined benefit pension scheme, support for professional development and a broad range of wellbeing initiatives such as staff choir, running club, staff networks and creative writing classes.
