Job description:

Got a knack for cutting through the noise and turning complex ideas into work that actually moves people?

The University of Sheffield Advanced Manufacturing Research Centre (AMRC) is where world-leading research meets real-world industry impact. We’re looking for a sharp, proactive marketing and campaigns manager to take the reins, champion our brand and deliver standout campaigns that get noticed.

THE OPPORTUNITY

This isn't about pushing out formulaic marketing. It’s about building end-to-end campaign strategies, sharpening our visual storytelling, and translating groundbreaking innovation into clear, compelling narratives that drive commercial growth and elevate our reputation.

You will lead from the front, empowering a core team - including marketing, communications, events, and graphic design professionals - to deliver campaigns that land.

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING:

  • Designing and rolling out concurrent cohesive, multi-channel campaigns that focus on priority sectors and transform technical capabilities into compelling narratives.
  • Playing a key role in embedding a new CRM system to unlock targeted marketing, generate quality leads and track clear value.
  • Collaborating with research leaders and commercial teams to transform complex tech into high-impact visual messaging and impact evidence packages.
  • Managing campaign budgets creatively and directing external agency partners to get maximum value.

WHO YOU ARE

You’re creative, commercially-minded, and backed by solid multi-channel campaign experience. You know how to make performance data tell a clear story, and you thrive on bringing people along with you.

WHAT YOU BRING:

  • A degree in marketing or communications, or equivalent experience gained in a real-world setting.
  • A consistent record of designing, managing, and assessing multi-channel campaigns concurrently.
  • Experience managing, mentoring, and getting the best out of creative team members.
  • Sharp analytical skills - you don't just guess, you look at data, adapt and refine.
  • Top-tier interpersonal skills to influence senior stakeholders and build lasting relationships.

WHAT YOU GET BACK

We offer a competitive salary of £39,560 - £48,337 per annum, with potential to progress to £52,788 for outstanding contribution. This comes with an impressive package crafted around your life.

  • Generous time off: 41 days annual leave as standard (including bank holidays and closure days), with the option to purchase more.
  • Hybrid working: Flexible options with a minimum 60% on-site presence to keep you connected with the team.
  • Sector-leading pension: A generous employer pension scheme.
  • Support and perks: Professional development and mentoring, retail discounts, family-friendly policies, and active staff networks.

We are committed to exploring flexible working opportunities which benefit the individual and University.

We build teams of people from different heritages and lifestyles from across the world, whose talent and contributions complement each other to greatest effect. We believe diversity in all its forms delivers greater impact through research, teaching and student experience.
