The opportunity
We are looking to appoint a Lecturer in Interaction Design to join the MA Interaction Design course, based in the Interaction Design and Visual Communication programme at London College of Communication.
You will prepare, teach and contribute to the development of a critical and self-reflective course alongside other designers and artists working at the forefront of the field.
The role involves leading seminars and participating in one-to-one tutorials, advising students on how to evolve and articulate their critical practice. You will also coordinate with the course team on curriculum development and communicate with other tutors to ensure clarity on next steps for students and the tutorial team. The role requires a significant contribution to pedagogic delivery, assessment, quality management and recruitment.
You will work under the direction of the Course Leader for MA Interaction Design to deliver the validated course, while also contributing to School, College and University initiatives, including research.
About you
You will possess a strong academic background, ideally with a postgraduate degree or equivalent practice experience in a relevant field, such as critical post-humanism, critical and/or research-based practice, moving image culture, decolonial studies, eco-feminism, queer studies or other relevant or associated subjects.
You will demonstrate experience of teaching and assessment in a higher education environment and be capable of supporting students’ academic experience, as well as providing pastoral support and guidance.
You will be a collaborative team worker who can plan, prioritise and manage resources efficiently to achieve objectives. Additionally, you will be able to provide evidence of research, knowledge exchange or critical practice that presents a new interpretation of the field.
