Based at our Headington Campus (with hybrid working options), the Student Funding Administrator reports directly to the Funding Team Leader. We are currently recruiting for 1 permanent and 1 fixed-term (1-year maternity cover) positions.
Working closely with the Student Loans Company (SLC) and internal Registry teams, you will serve as a key point of contact for students and staff regarding tuition fee data, SLC funding, and the OBU Bursary scheme. Your duties will include ensuring data integrity across our systems (Banner and SIS), investigating and resolving discrepancies to facilitate timely payments, and managing student fee categories and waivers. You will also play a key role in supporting our students during enrollment periods and Open Days, providing a high standard of customer care across all communications.
The Student Finance team sits within the Finance and Legal Services (FLS) Directorate, which is central to maintaining the University’s financial integrity, operational stability, and statutory compliance. Our department is responsible for the accurate charging, collection, and allocation of tuition fees, as well as the administration of the OBU Bursary scheme.1
We are committed to delivering a high-quality, student-focused service. Our work involves complex data management, including maintaining data integrity between the University’s Student Record System (Banner) and the Student Loans Company (SLC) database.
What will I be doing?
What skills do I need?
Please Note: This role will not attract sufficient points to obtain a sponsored skilled worker visa under the points-based immigration system, however applications are welcome from candidates who don’t currently have the right to work in the UK, but who would be eligible to obtain a visa via another route.
This role is hybrid, allowing for a balance between home and office working. We anticipate this role will require 1–2 days on campus per week to facilitate team collaboration and support our student-facing services.
As an Oxford Brookes employee, you will enjoy a total of a minimum of 25 days holiday, rising with your service, plus 8 Bank Holidays and additional University concessionary Days (approx 5 per year).
We have an extremely competitive Local Government pension scheme as well as providing all staff with financial education, a comprehensive employee assistance helpline.
