Do you want to play an instrumental part in ensuring that the University of Sheffield’s world-leading research creates positive change in the world? And do you have the skills required to grow the impact, partnerships and reputation of a research intensive University?
We are looking to appoint a Partnerships & Knowledge Exchange Manager for our Engineering and Physical Science activities - we're one of the biggest providers of engineering and physical science research and education in the UK, with over 7000 students and an annual research income of over £100m.
You will use your experience, communication and interpersonal skills to help our academics build trusted relationships with external partners and facilitate a diverse range of research, education and innovation collaborations. These will deliver growth in income, impact and reputational benefit to the University – as well as creating new value and supporting the strategic priorities of our partners.
We are ideally looking for someone who:
This exciting role will not only provide you with the opportunity to lead and deliver significant change across our Engineering and Physical Sciences activities, but also with the chance to work across the whole University, lead relationships with high profile companies and manage multi-million-pound strategic partnerships.
The team primarily facilitates academically-led partnerships, innovation and knowledge exchange with business and industry partners. We are particularly looking for candidates with experience of developing collaborations, leading projects across multiple teams, forming new relationships and strong communication skills.
The University of Sheffield has a strong culture of excellence in innovation and entrepreneurship. From our pioneering Advanced Manufacturing Research Centre (AMRC) to our ambitious regional Made Together programme, our ambition is to grow on this success by setting up more strategic partnerships and by further strengthening our innovation, knowledge exchange and real-world impact.
We encourage applicants to use the additional information section on the application to show suitability for the role, demonstrating applicable sector knowledge or experience of knowledge exchange within Higher Education.

We offer a fantastic range of benefits including a highly competitive annual leave entitlement (with the ability to purchase more), a generous pensions scheme, flexible working opportunities, a commitment to your development and wellbeing, a wide range of retail discounts, and much more.
