The Department of Education Policy and Leadership (EPL) seeks to recruit a scholar at the rank of Assistant Professor or Associate Professor. With members of diverse specialisms, we host various undergraduate, postgraduate and professional development programmes. Our research and teaching focus on leadership, innovation, policy, and professional development across local, regional, and international educational contexts. We are increasingly expanding our impact beyond schools to engage private, corporate, and non-governmental organisations involved in education and training. We welcome applications from scholars in relevant disciplines, particularly those with expertise in one or more of the following areas:
The successful candidate will aspire to work individually and collaboratively to conduct cutting-edge research, develop and teach innovative courses in undergraduate, postgraduate, and continuing professional development programmes, and engage in community services. Accordingly, shortlisted candidates will evidence a clearly defined research agenda relevant to the Department’s vision, a strong publication record, the capacity to win competitive grants, a commitment to high-quality teaching, sustained engagement in professional services, and an aptitude for innovation.
Applicants should have a doctoral degree and prior degrees in fields relevant to one or more of these areas. Applicants for Associate Professor should possess evidence of strong research output and publication in relevant field(s) and a strong research track record and impact. Applicants for Assistant Professor should possess evidence of scholarship, research, and publications in the relevant field(s). Professional fluency in written and spoken English is required. Competency in Chinese, an understanding of Hong Kong and the Greater Bay Area context, Qualified Teacher Status, or prior working experience in the education sector is advantageous. Candidates with international experience would be highly valued.
