This maternity leave opportunity within Research, Innovation & Enterprise offers the chance to play a key role in supporting the University of Aberdeen’s ambitious growth in externally funded research. Working closely with the Faculty of Medicine, Health & Life Sciences, you will identify funding opportunities, provide expert advice on research funding applications, and support the development of high-quality grant proposals, contracts and collaborative research initiatives. You will work alongside academics, professional services colleagues and external partners to help increase research income and contribute to research excellence that addresses some of society’s most pressing challenges.
We are seeking a proactive, highly organised and motivated individual with experience of research funding, bid development and project management. Knowledge of the UK health research funding landscape, including UKRI and NIHR, and experience supporting clinical research would be advantageous. However, applicants with relevant experience outside the medical and health sectors are strongly encouraged to apply, as portfolio flexibility may allow the role to be aligned with other areas of expertise. This is an exciting opportunity to join a supportive and collaborative team dedicated to maximising research impact, strengthening external partnerships and helping deliver the ambitions of the University’s Aberdeen 2040 strategy.
Salary will be at the appropriate point on either Grade 7, £47,389 - £56,535 per annum or Grade 8, £59,966 – £67,468 per annum with placement according to qualifications and experience.
This role is based in the UK and as such the successful candidate will be required to live and work in the UK.
Informal enquiries should be made to Dr. Juliette Snow, Head of Research, Innovation & Enterprise, e-mail: j.e.snow@abdn.ac.uk
