We are a world class research-intensive university. We deliver teaching and learning of the highest quality. We play a leading role in economic, social and cultural development of the North East of England. Attracting and retaining high-calibre people is fundamental to our continued success.
The Role
We are looking for a motivated, enthusiastic and highly-organised individual to join our Professional Services Education Support Team. You will work closely with professional service colleagues and academic leads to ensure effective and efficient administrative processes and support within the School of Geography, Politics and Sociology.
You will be a problem solver with initiative and a can-do attitude, and will be adaptable and flexible in your approach. You will have relevant administrative experience, particularly in process delivery and development, and customer service. You will be a ‘people person’ with an ability to work in and across teams and will be committed to providing an excellent student and colleague experience.
To apply, please complete an online application, upload a CV and a cover letter. Your cover letter should be a detailed supporting statement outlining why you are a good fit for the role. Please explain how you meet the essential criteria (available on the university's website, accessed by the 'Apply' button) and evidence this with examples.
The position is fixed-term for 12 months (maternity cover) and offered on a part-time basis (22.5 hours per week) with a January start date. The role is predominantly campus-based on the City Campus in Newcastle upon Tyne. We are committed to building and maintaining a fair and inclusive working environment and we would be happy to discuss arrangements for flexible and/or blended working.
We understand how important the full employment package is to our colleagues at Newcastle University and we are committed to providing a great range of benefits and discounts for all. You can learn more about what is available here on our Benefits Website page.
Informal enquiries may be made to Leeann Bewick, Operations Co-ordinator.
