Emirates Aviation University invites applications from suitably qualified and research-active academics for the position of Senior Lecturer / Assistant Professor in Artificial Intelligence and Data Science.

Qualifications

A PhD in Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, Computer Science or Machine Learning from a recognised university. Applicants should demonstrate an active research profile and the academic standing appropriate to the rank applied for.

• Deep Learning and Generative AI
• Natural Language Processing and Computer Vision
• Big Data Technologies, Cloud Computing and MLOps
• Responsible AI, AI Ethics and Data Governance
• Programming for AI and Data Science, including Python and relevant frameworks

Teaching and Assessment Responsibilities

Deliver engaging lectures, seminars, laboratory sessions and project-based learning activities at undergraduate and postgraduate levels. Develop and enhance teaching materials that incorporate current technological developments, real-world datasets, industry case studies and relevant research. Design and assess coursework, examinations, laboratory work and projects, providing timely and constructive feedback.

Research and Supervision

Supervise undergraduate and postgraduate research projects and dissertations in artificial intelligence, data science and related areas. Undertake high-quality research, publish scholarly work in reputable peer-reviewed journals and conferences, and participate in academic and industry events. Contribute to research collaborations, grant applications, curriculum development and academic quality assurance.

Required Knowledge and Experience

Relevant higher education teaching experience and strong theoretical and practical knowledge of artificial intelligence and data science. Experience with contemporary machine learning and deep learning methods, data preparation and modelling, model evaluation, deployment workflows and commonly used programming languages, libraries and platforms. Evidence of the ability to teach and supervise students across a range of levels is required.

Additional Skills

Ability to connect academic theory with current professional practice and emerging AI applications. Evidence of relevant research activity or publications, together with strong communication, organisational, teamwork and student supervision skills. A commitment to inclusive, student-centred learning and responsible use of AI is expected.

Desirable Industry Experience

Professional or applied research experience in AI, data science, analytics, software development, cloud platforms or related technology sectors. Experience of industry collaboration, externally funded projects, professional certification, or applying AI and data science within aviation, engineering, business or smart systems is highly desirable. Familiarity with the UAE and international higher education or technology sectors would be an advantage.
