Lecturer in Digital Media
The School of Arts at Lancaster University is seeking to develop its highly ranked programmes with the appointment of a new Lecturer in Digital Media. This is a teaching and research position. This is a 1.0 FTE indefinite appointment.
You will pursue research leading to outputs at a level appropriate for submission to future Research Excellence Framework exercises. You will be encouraged to develop new research collaborations both with colleagues at Lancaster and also with colleagues outside the University, which will lead to externally funded research grants.
We welcome applications from candidates whose research could link with and add to the existing strengths in the Media and Film subject area, such as digital culture; screen studies; platform studies; social media analysis; critical data studies; critical AI studies, media and cultural theory; and science and technology studies.
In particular, we are seeking applicants whose teaching and research combines at least one of these foci in digital media with the ability to guide students in digital practice and media production, broadly understood, and/or digital methods in support of empirical digital research.
The role involves producing excellent research-led teaching and contributing to the delivery of a range of modules at the undergraduate and postgraduate levels, supervising undergraduate and postgraduate students, and participating in the administration of teaching, research, and public engagement.
We welcome applications from people in all diversity groups.
Informal enquiries are welcome and should be made to Prof Carolyn Pedwell, Subject Lead: c.e.pedwell@lancaster.ac.uk.
Please note: unless specified otherwise in the advert, all advertised roles are UK based.
