About the Role
We are seeking to appoint a Research Fellow for an industrial innovation project titled ‘Hybrid Cyber Range for Cyber-Physical Energy Systems’ led by Principal Investigator, Dr. Subhash Lakshminarayana.
You will join the dynamic team led by Dr Subhash Lakshminarayana (https://subhashlakshminarayana.myportfolio.com/), working on developing cyber-physical resilience enhancement algorithms, AI for power grid optimization and security, and prototype software for cyber-physical energy systems.
The overall goal of the project is to develop novel risk analysis and resilience enhancement methods for cyber-physical energy systems. Specifically, the project will formulate mathematical risk modelling and resilience metrics and translate these concepts into proof-of-concept software tools and algorithms. These implementations will be evaluated within a hybrid cyber range environment to validate mitigation strategies and strengthen energy infrastructure against evolving cyber threats.
You will undertake independent and collaborative research and will be expected to write up your research for publication.
You will be expected to deal with any management/administration problems that may arise from the project and produce and present regular project reports ensuring that the project objectives and deadlines are met.
This post is based at the University of Warwick (in the Connected Systems Lab at the School of Engineering, https://warwick.ac.uk/fac/sci/eng/research/grouplist/connectedsystems/ however the successful candidate will be required to make trips to the project partners, who are based across UK sites.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone previously researching at the intersection of cyber security and energy systems.
