By joining the University of Lancashire, you’ll become part of a thriving community of talent that’s united by a shared vision – to transform the lives of our students and create prosperity and opportunity in the communities we serve. Every colleague has a vital role to play in helping us achieve this vision.
About the role:
The University of Lancashire is seeking an enthusiastic Senior Clinical Teacher to join our clinical academic team on a part-time basis. Working primarily with international BDS students in the final year of their programme, you will play an important role in preparing them for independent clinical practice. Your responsibilities will include chairside clinical supervision, academic teaching and module leadership, supporting students to develop their clinical skills, confidence and professional judgement. You will join a supportive and collaborative team within a dynamic School delivering a diverse range of undergraduate and postgraduate dental programmes, including BDS, International BDS, Dental Therapy and Clinical Dental Technology. This role is based at the University's Dental Clinic in Preston, with some travel required to other University sites.
About you:
You will have comprehensive long-term experience of primary care dentistry in a General Dental Practice, a Primary Care Clinic, a University or a Hospital environment, along with some experience of teaching within a dental setting. Applicants must have full current registration as a dentist with the General Dental Council. Excellent communication skills, a collaborative approach and enthusiasm for student-centred education are essential.
Informal discussions are warmly welcomed. Please contact Dr Claudia Cunningham, Head of Dentistry.
Applicants must meet all essential criteria outlined in the person specification to be considered for interview.
What we can offer you:
We have a fantastic package of rewards and lifestyle benefits – from an attractive annual leave entitlement to access to a comprehensive employee benefits platform which includes a 24/7 online GP.
Our people are our most important asset. We’ll encourage you to make the most of your talents and continually develop your skills and knowledge. As well as realising your career ambitions, you’ll be making a positive difference to other people’s lives.
About us:
We are proud to be a diverse, multicultural university. We are committed to building a truly inclusive culture where diversity is championed.
