Senior Lecturer and Academic Liaison Manager, Global Business Entrepreneurship

About the Role

Oxford Brookes University is seeking an experienced, collaborative Senior Lecturer to join our team as Academic Liaison Manager (Global Business Entrepreneurship) within our major educational partnership with Global Banking School (GBS). 

This operational leadership role sits at the intersection of quality assurance, assessment scrutiny, and diplomatic relationship management. Working directly alongside the Academic Director and Programme Directors, you will safeguard the academic integrity and standards of Oxford Brookes awards delivered across GBS campuses in London, Birmingham, Manchester, and Leeds. 

Focusing on our Business Entrepreneurship provision, you will lead joint assessment scrutiny and moderation processes, evaluate teaching and learning materials, support academic delivery teams, and ensure full compliance with University regulations and Office for Students (OfS) conditions of registration. Working constructively with GBS staff, you will provide operational and pedagogical guidance that elevates quality, supports academic standards, maintains subject currency, and enhances the student experience across widening participation communities. 

Key Responsibilities

• Lead joint assessment scrutiny and moderation processes within Business Entrepreneurship modules to ensure assessment validity, academic integrity, and full alignment with approved specifications.
• Monitor and enforce adherence to University regulations, the UK HE Quality Code, and OfS Conditions of Registration (including B-conditions) across partner delivery.
• Maintain regular, collaborative contact with partner academic leads, providing proactive guidance, operational feedback, and problem-solving to support high delivery standards.
• Conduct thorough reviews of teaching materials, module delivery, and student outcomes, ensuring timely escalation of emerging operational or academic risks to the Academic Director.
• Provide pedagogical guidance and support staff development to enhance partner teaching quality and maintain subject currency in Entrepreneurship.
• Attend programme committees and exam boards, brief External Examiners, and contribute to annual review processes and risk registers.

About You

We are looking for a senior academic with a strong track record in quality management and collaborative working within business or entrepreneurship education. You do not necessarily need previous franchised provision experience, provided you bring transferable diplomatic leadership skills, teaching credibility, and deep expertise in higher education quality assurance.

Essential Criteria:

• Qualifications & Professional Recognition: Master’s degree or higher in Business Entrepreneurship or a closely related cognate discipline, and Higher Education Academy Fellowship (FHEA or higher).
• Academic & Teaching Credibility: Proven track record of successful teaching delivery and module leadership in Higher Education, with the authority to review teaching quality and support academic staff development.
• Quality Assurance Expertise: Proven experience in higher education programme quality management, with a thorough operational understanding of assessment moderation, quality codes, and regulatory frameworks (such as OfS standards).
• Diplomatic & Relationship Management Skills: Exceptional interpersonal, negotiation, and influence skills, with a demonstrated ability to build positive partner relationships while firmly upholding non-negotiable academic standards across embedded environments.
• Academic Standards Oversight: Proven ability to evaluate assessment validity, review assignment briefs, and provide constructive operational feedback to academic teams.
• Digital Literacy: Confidence in navigating digital education platforms and reviewing online delivery systems effectively.
