The role
Joining this project, you will contribute to our computational aeroacoustic research at the University of Bristol. You will become a part of a large group of highly motivated researchers, with a research focus of aerodynamics and aeroacoustics of propellers and bluff bodies. You will make use of a range of mid- and high-fidelity computational tools, including PowerFlow to analyse the aerodynamic and aeroacoustic of propulsion systems and flow interaction with bluff bodies. University of Bristol is home to the UK’s National Aeroacoustic Facility, and by joining the team you will have access to our state-of-the-art experimental and computational facilities.
At the University of Bristol, you will become a member of a large group of highly motivated researchers, with a research focus of aerodynamics and aeroacoustics of propellers and bluff bodies. University of Bristol is home to the UK’s National Aeroacoustic Facility, National Boundary Layer Facility, National Pressure Neutral Acoustic Wind tunnel, as well as several large HPCs, and by joining the team you will have access to our state-of-the-art experimental and computational facilities.
What will you be doing?
You will be responsible for performing mid- and high-fidelity aerodynamic and aeroacoustic simulations, and analysing the performance of propellers and bluff bodies under different operating conditions. As part of this research, you will be collaborating with several partners. You will be using the National Aeroacoustic Facility and HPC system at the University of Bristol. The results of this research are expected to be published in the fields top journals. The project provides an opportunity to work on a fundamental, but also industrially important problem and collaborate with world-leading academics in the field. You will be able to attend several international conferences to present your results. As well as carrying the research defined in the project to the highest standards, the successful applicant will be expected to work as part of a team and to prepare reports and presentations for project meetings and publications for international journals.
