Responsibilities and tasks:
The Professor MSO’s main task is to make a substantial contribution to the development of Performance Design as a field of research at Roskilde University. Applicants are asked to describe how they will develop research in Performance Design and within the research milieu of Performance Design at Roskilde University during the 5-year period.

The professor is expected to maintain a significant record of publication, to encourage research achievement and to nurture a research culture within the research group. You will also be expected to secure external research funding, and participate actively in research networks. You will be required to teach, supervise and assess students at BSc and MSc levels as well as PhD students. This also implies developing the field in relation to teaching. As professor you will be required to participate in post-doctoral training and be responsible for the supervision of assistant professors as well as take part in academic assessments.  The position also includes a duty to share knowledge with the rest of society – including participation in public debate. Finally, you will be expected to contribute to management and leadership through engagement in the Department.

Qualifications:
Applicants must hold a PhD degree and have documented scientific qualifications. In addition, the applicant is expected to have

• experience in research management and editorial work
• experience in undertaking academic administrative responsibilities at a university level
• experience in supervision of students at all university levels
• ties to, and to be an active part of, international research networks and cooperation

You are also required to be enterprising and to possess good interpersonal skills and to be a visible, active participant in the department’s daily activities, in addition to being willing to engage in disciplinary and interdisciplinary collaboration across the department.

Assessment:
In the assessment of the candidates consideration will be given to;

• original scientific production at an international level in relation to Performance Design
• the ideas and plan for how the applicant will develop research in Performance Design during the 5-year period
• a proven track record in research activities and publications that supports this vision.
• a proven track record in applying for and securing external research funding.
• experience with providing dynamic leadership in the development of research and teaching,
• experience in teaching and education at all university levels
• experience in collaboration with organisations and practioners in relations to research and education
• ability to contribute to development of the department’s internal and external cooperation

Terms of employment:
The position will be filled according to the Agreement between the Danish Ministry of Finance and the Danish Confederation of Professional Associations (AC). The position is covered by the Protocol on Job Structure.

Commencing salary will be for professor (MSO) minimum DKK 534.788 per year (1st April 2016 level) plus pension contribution (17,1 %).

The professorship with special responsibilities (MSO) is a category where the appointment is limited to a -year period. On the expiry of the professorship period, the appointee is ensured employment and remuneration as an associate professor.
