Yes. We take appropriate adverts from a wide range of organisations. We advertise job vacancies for public sector, commercial and health organisations, research institutions, charities, colleges and schools.

We are not a UK organisation. Can we use your website to advertise?

Do you advertise PhD’s/studentships?

Yes. We advertise thousands of PhD opportunities and short term research posts each year. Feedback from previous advertisers suggests that advertising studentships with jobs.ac.uk is the most effective way to reach your target audience, increase the profile of your department/research areas and reach a large international audience.

Can we attach additional documents to the advert?

jobs.ac.uk does provide an additional documents facility. Additional documents should be sent in the same email with the advert but attached in a separate document. Ideally they should be sent as HTML files as they are uploaded as they are sent, however we will accept additional documents in Microsoft Word (although some formatting may be lost when converted to HTML). The change for additional documents is £50 in addition to the price of the advert, and we can only provide one additional document per advert.

My advert is displayed differently to how it was sent. Why is this?

We use a template for our Standard Adverts which means all adverts are displayed in a similar format, with job title appearing first, and logos appearing on the left of the screen. If you wish your advert to appear very differently to this you will need to use our Enhanced Advert service.

I have sent a job advert to you in an email. When will it be visible on your site?

Adverts sent to us are queued in the order in which they arrive, and are then entered into our database as soon as possible. All adverts are normally placed on our website within two working days of receipt (enhanced adverts, three working days). If you cannot find your advert and you sent it more than two days previously, please feel free to contact us – it may be that we haven’t received it. Please don’t resend your advert without checking with us first, as this may result in a duplication for which you will be charged.

Can we place our job advert in a language other than English?

Yes, as long as an English version is also displayed. The word limit is the total for both versions.

I want to withdraw my job advert – is there a charge?

If the advert has not yet been placed, there will be no charge for withdrawing it. Please contact us with full details of the advert and how it was sent so we can locate it.

I’m not certain my job advert has reached you. Should I resend it?

If you cannot find your advert and you sent it more than two days previously (enhanced adverts, three working days), please feel free to contact us – it may be that we haven’t received it. Please don’t resend your advert without checking with us first, as this may result in a duplication for which you will be charged.

Is it possible to use tracking links?

We can host tracking links (if provided by client) for all outgoing links in adverts, e.g. if linking from an advert to your application page. We can also host tracking links (if provided by client) for the Spotlight button when linking directly to an external site, e.g. if linking from a Spotlight button to a Campaign Site. We are currently not able to host tracking links for internal links, e.g. from a Featured Button to Linking Page or Advert. However, it is a service we are looking to provide in the future, if you require further information please contact our team.

Can I extend or amend the advert?

Yes, please contact us whilst the advert is live and we will make the changes. Extensions will only be allowed if the total duration of the advert is under 8 weeks.

What are the working hours?

Our opening hours are 9:00am – 5:00pm Monday to Friday (excluding bank holidays).
