At Sheffield Hallam University we currently have a vacancy for a fixed-term researcher to work as a member of a European-wide research team on a prestigious project called Unity. The project will develop new tools, procedures and technologies to help facilitate a closer and more effective interaction between communities and law enforcement agencies.

You will be part of a team for developing mobile and web technologies for the Unity Project. You will be working as part of a small, dedicated, project team in the Centre of Excellence for Terrorism, Resilience, Intelligence and Organised Crime research (CENTRIC). You will also work with other UK and European partners (including UK and European Law Enforcement Agencies) in the project.  

The post play a key role in a major European Union project and provide the opportunity to develop leading-edge skills and experience in using and developing new and contemporary technologies. You will develop strong links with universities, law enforcement agencies and industry, and the opportunity to work closely with researchers and practitioners within a wide range of technical expertise.

You must have a good first degree (2.1 or better) or equivalent in computing or a related discipline, be capable of software development and have excellent communication and organisational skills. A PhD or equivalent in a computing or related subject is desirable but not essential.
