Applications are invited for the above full-time position in the School of Psychology.
We seek to appoint a candidate with significant early-career potential or established track record of research excellence with an expertise in consumer psychology and commercialisation. The School offers courses in Consumer Psychology and has a track record of research and commercial projects in consumer domains. More generally the School has research strengths in social neuroscience; perception, action and memory; language, bilingualism and cognitive development; and clinical, health and behavioural psychology. https://www.bangor.ac.uk/psychology/research/
The appointee will lead an independent research programme integrated within a core area of expertise of the school. We particularly welcome applications from individuals with a developing international track record in using neuroscience methodologies (such as MRI, ERP etc) in their research.
Teaching requirements of this post are light by UK standards and will be expected to be closely related to the appointee’s research specialism. The appointment is permanent, subject to successful probation.
We are one of the UK’s most successful Psychology departments, with an established track record of excellence in research: 89% of our total research activity was judged to be internationally excellent or world-leading in REF 2014; overall, the School ranked 17th out of 82 universities. Our research is supported by a state-of-the-art research environment. In the cognitive and clinical domains, this includes an in-house research-dedicated Phillips 3T MRI, supporting fMRI, MRS and DTI; multiple eye-tracking labs; high-density EEG systems; and MRI-guided stimulation techniques including TMS and tDCS.
Bangor is a friendly and affordable university town, with good transport links, located in an outstandingly beautiful region notable for the Snowdonia National Park and the award-winning beaches of Anglesey.
