This full-time fixed term maternity cover post is available from 1st February 2017 for up to 12 months. We are now investing in a new Directorate of Innovation, Impact and Business to drive forward our already strong relationships with business; grow our potential for significant impact; and galvanise regional innovation.

We are seeking to recruit an experienced manager with expertise in the field of environmental sustainability and earth resources. You will work within the new Innovation, Impact and Business Department as part of the Regional Impact and Innovation Team.

Your key role will be to support impact development; facilitate collaborations with industry and government organisations; manage relationships with key partners including corporate partners; and deliver other forms of income from businesses and other external partners, including regional funding. You will represent the Directorate and University in both internal and external interactions and will use your negotiation and influencing skills to network, continuing to nurture existing relationships and develop new ones. Experienced in business development and ideally with expertise in a technology or engineering field. Knowledge of economic development plus EU and research funding would also be an advantage.

You will also be responsible for supporting the University of Exeter's Environment and Sustainability Institute (ESI), a 30 million pound interdisciplinary centre leading cutting-edge research into solutions to problems of environmental change, and the Camborne School of Mines (CSM) ESI and CSM are based on the University's Penryn Campus, near Falmouth.

The role is based on our Cornwall campus but travel between our campuses in Cornwall and Exeter will be expected as well as engagement with external organisations both regionally and nationally advantage. They will work with partners externally and with academic staff, college and other professional services across the University both at the University's Exeter campuses and at the Cornwall campus Penryn/Truro. The post holders may be required to travel to partner organisations on occasion. They will be used to handling a large workload and working collaboratively with colleagues to provide an efficient and valuable service to customers.

The salary for this role will be from £33,943 to £38,183 per annum on Grade F, depending on qualifications and experience.
