Salary: These appointments will be made at a point on the IUA Post Doctorate Researcher (starting at €35,448) commensurate with experience.

We are seeking 2 highly motivated and well-organised post-doctoral researchers with strong interests in neuroscience and inflammation to work on an exciting NIH-funded project on neuroinflammation and cognitive function. The successful candidates will have a Ph.D. in Neuroimmunology or in a related sphere or neuroscience or immunology. The current project will examine the impact of prior neurodegeneration in the basal forebrain cholinergic system on the cognitive, metabolic and neuroinflammatory consequences of subsequent inflammation induced by bacterial LPS or by polymicrobial sepsis. Both posts will involve cellular, molecular and histological approaches to neuroinflammation and neurodegeneration with behavioural and surgical approaches as required.
