Lecturer or Senior Lecturer in Chinese Environment

King’s College London seeks to appoint a Lecturer or Senior Lecturer in Chinese Environment. The postholder will have responsibility for establishing and overseeing new joint research activities and related teaching in the area of environment and environmental policy, science and politics in China. S/he will hold a joint appointment between the Lau China Institute and the Analytical and Environmental Sciences Division in the Faculty of Life Sciences and Medicine, reporting to the respective Directors, but with immediate responsibility to the Director of the Lau China Institute. S/he will liaise with research fellows and staff within the Lau China Institute, the Environmental Research Group and the MRC-PHE Centre for Environment and Health. S/he will also liaise with staff at a range of universities in China including Peking University and Peking University Health Sciences Centre. A particular focus will be on the issue of air quality which severely affects the biophysical environment as well as citizens’ health. Candidates with specialism in this area would be welcome.

Post duration:

Fixed-term contract for 3 years.


The appointment will be made, dependent on relevant qualifications and experience, within the Grade 6-8 scales, currently £32,958 to £57,674 per annum, plus £2,623 London Allowance per annum.
