Paediatric Research Nurse

University of Oxford - Oxford Vaccine Group

Would you like a nursing role which doesn’t involve shift work? Are you ready for a change? Why not consider research nursing at the Oxford Vaccine Group? The Oxford Vaccine Group (OVG) are seeking enthusiastic nurses to join the Paediatric Research Nurse Team, all training is provided so no experience in research is necessary.

The role is essential to the management and deliverance of the research studies. You will visit participants and their family at their home to discuss the study, obtain blood or swab samples, and administer study and routine vaccines. Venepuncture and immunisation training will be provided. Applicants should have good communication and organisational skills with good attention to detail.

OVG conducts world-leading research into creating new and optimising existing vaccines for children and adults. Our research has recently led to the much-anticipated introduction of the Meningitis B vaccine for babies into the UK vaccination schedule, but also focuses on global health. Initially a 12 month fixed-term contract, extension is likely but is subject to external funding available.

To discuss the post in more detail please contact Hannah Robinson, tel: 01865 857420.

The closing date for applications is 12.00 noon on Wednesday 21 December 2016.
