IT Support Manager


NIAB is a leading UK centre for plant science, crop evaluation and agronomy, with a regional network and headquarters in Cambridge. 

A new post has arisen for a motivated and experienced Senior IT Support Manager with excellent leadership, management and communication skills.

Based at NIAB HQ in Cambridge, the post holder will  lead a team responsible to management of the complete IT estate including Windows and Linux servers, network and desktop infrastructure across the multi-site NIAB Group, as well as the workflow management systems used for scientific data analysis.  The appointed person will also provide leadership for the deployment and development of a high performance computing (HPC) platform.

Applicants are expected to have a proven track record in the management of large computing facilities and networks and experience of implementing an IT strategy in a large or medium organisation.

In addition, applicants should have a working knowledge and in-depth experience of Windows and Linux administration, network administration, Microsoft Exchange, server virtualisation and backup, firewall configuration and scientific workflow management systems configuration.
