The Human Resources (HR) Directorate have a pivotal role to play in ensuring that the university is able to meet its objectives within the University Strategy. The role of HR is to be a strategic partner providing professional long term strategic guidance and support to meet the evolving people management needs of the university. In order to fulfil our role as a Strategic Partner we need to ensure that we are business focused, flexible in our approach, delivering a quality proactive HR service that provides value for money.

Reporting to a HR Manager, this role is responsible for the delivery of HR support to the university's business units as part of a team of Senior/HR Advisors. You will provide consistent and pragmatic professional advice on the application of HR policies, investigations, disciplinary and grievance hearings, and change processes. You will also support managers in diagnosing and resolving casework issues offering appropriate professional support and advice, as well as being involved in policy development.

A highly committed, HR professional who is ideally CIPD qualified, you will need to have substantial experience of advising managers on HR and people management issues. Relevant HR knowledge such as the application of HR policies and procedures, performance management and change management will be expected. You will have a sound knowledge of employment law coupled with experience of working with trade unions and/or employee representatives.
