Job description
This is an exciting time to join the EPSRC CDT DRIVE-Health Centre for Doctoral Training in Data-Driven Health www.drive-health.org.uk.
The DRIVE-Health CDT Manager will work closely with the CDT Directors and the CDT Management team as well as the Centre for Doctoral Studies (CDS) at King’s and will be responsible for managing all aspects of administration whilst contributing to the strategy and operational development of the Centre.
The CDT will fund over 85 PhD students over a period of 9 years and the post holder is expected to set up and manage all processes involved with the student lifecycle: from application and selection of PhD students to completion, including managing the financial aspect of the CDT Grant and studentships and supporting the CDT training programme.
The CDT Manager will work closely with Post awards team to manage the CDT’s finances and provide timely financial projections and reports on the status of the grant to the CDT Management Board. The postholder will also manage the funding provided by King’s and external industry partners.
The CDT manager will provide high-level support to the CDT’s Management team, including: managing the annual cycle of work, providing information and advice, drafting reports, collating and analysing information and statistics and contributing to reports required by the funder, and internally by King’s. The CDT Manager will act as the key contact for all parties involved in the CDT and oversee the delivery of various initiatives, as outlined in the awarded EPSRC CDT proposal, for example public engagement events, widening participation Vacation Internships scheme, impact, Equality, Diversity & Inclusion and other activities.
The CDT Manager will also act as first point of contact for CDT students and will be the first point of contact for the CDT Management Team, and central King’s Services, such as Admissions, Registry Services and CDS, external partners, prospective students and external queries.
Key functions of this role are as follows:
Line managed jointly by the CDT Directors and the Associate Director (Doctoral Partnerships), the CDT Manager is a member of Doctoral Training Entities (DTE) Network in King’s, sharing best practice and collaborating with other DTE Managers to enhance the experience of PhD students in the DRIVE-Health CDT and at King’s.
This post will be offered on a fixed-term contract for 3 years with provision of renewal pertinent of performance.
The post can be offered a full-time or part-time job share basis.
