Digital Development Editors

Open University - Development and Production, Learning and Teaching Innovation

We are looking for talented Digital Development Editors to create world-class distance learning experiences for The Open University’s 170,000-plus students.

You will play a key role in designing, developing and delivering engaging and pedagogically effective digital and print learning materials, working in multi-skilled creative teams alongside academic and other partners.

With strong communication, negotiation and presentation skills, you will be able to build productive partnerships at a variety of levels. The ability to manage competing priorities and a keen eye for detail and accuracy are integral to the role. Excellent digital skills and knowledge of emerging technologies will enable you to make creative editorial decisions.

There are several posts available, including posts where a background or qualification in financial accountancy, mathematics or science would be an advantage, although not all of the posts need these specialist subjects. A background in publishing, digital editorial and production, educational technology or instructional design, or equivalent experience would also be an asset.

Closing date: Midday, 22 December 2016

Interview dates: 16 to 20 January 2017
