With an exciting and ambitious future ahead of us, the Marketing and Communications Department is changing its strategic approach to delivering innovative and impactful work and we are seeking a Senior Marketing Projects Officer to assist with this.

This is a new role at the University and offers a unique opportunity to make your mark amongst a community of marketing and communications professionals by helping to create and deliver working processes. To do this you will manage the marketing and communications workflow at the University – shaping and embedding the project brief and project management processes for the Department. 

Day-to-day you will work with a wide range of colleagues from specialist teams – media, digital, marketing, content, internal communications, and CRM, as well as external suppliers – on projects ranging from utilizing virtual reality in student recruitment to announcing ground-breaking research discoveries. You will be involved in projects from concept through to final sign-off; drawing on your experience and/or training in marketing communications and project management to set realistic outcomes, ensure projects are adequately resourced, and activity is planned and coordinated. 

As the University's 'go-to' person for new marketing and communications activity, you will need to be highly organized, a team player, fast thinker, and curious. You will Chair regular project planning meetings where your communication skills and ability to influence stakeholders will be needed, alongside your strategic and practical thinking. You will be regularly asked to report on project plans and progress, so a working knowledge of project management methodology is a must along with the ability to simplify and report on complicated data, like finances and scheduling. 

The role may suit a project or account manager working in a multi-channel agency, a studio or traffic manager in a creative setting, or a marketing and communications professional used to managing multiple projects and coordinating teams to deliver them.
