The Operations and Information Management Group hosts four main clusters – Operations Management, Business Analytics, Global Information Systems and Systems Modelling and Simulation- conducting research in various aspects of Operations Management, Operations Research, IT and Modelling, which underpins our learning and teaching activities. Moreover, we actively support business engagement/executive education opportunities.  In line with our growth strategy, we are seeking an inspirational and highly motivated individual to contribute to the development of the Group’s learning and teaching, and enterprise activities. Candidates should be experienced in teaching Operations and Supply Chain Management subjects to a high standard so that they can contribute to our existing and new offerings in these areas. Applicants will require expertise in some or all of the following: Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, Total Quality Management, Business Improvement and Project Management. This role may be of interest to candidates wishing to transition from industry to an academic role longer term.

We anticipate opportunities to work closely with colleagues in our other Groups, including Law, Marketing and Strategy, and Work and Organizational Psychology. We are keen to discuss new ideas in order to strengthen our teaching and business support provision.

Applicants should possess a good first degree and a master’s or higher qualification in a relevant discipline - a doctorate is desirable. They should have a passion for their subject and be able to communicate that passion effectively to the academic, business and policy-making communities. They should be able to demonstrate effective and innovative teaching practice at undergraduate and postgraduate levels and be at least Fellows of HEA (or equivalent) or commit to achieve this status in the first two years in post. Chartered membership of professional bodies, industry experience and possession of entrepreneurial skills are highly desirable.

The post-holder will report to the Head of Group and the Executive Dean.
