Student Experience Officer

HEFCW is recruiting for a Student Experience Officer working within the Strategic Development team. You will support other HEFCW staff in a range of policy areas relating to the student experience. This includes learning and teaching; quality assurance; initial teacher training; skills and employability and Welsh medium developments. You will analyse data, draft reports, organise events, provide secretariat support for meetings and support staff in developing and implementing policy. In addition to these tasks, you will also support colleagues in the implementation and monitoring of the Welsh Language Standards and provide support to the Communications function.

Being able to work bilingually (in Welsh and in English) is essential for this post, along with effective communication skills both orally and in writing. You will need to be educated to degree level (or equivalent), and have a proven track record of organisational and administrative skills, ideally within the higher education or public sector. You will also have strong numeracy skills, problem solving and analytical skills and IT skills. You will be a team player, who is able to develop and maintain good working relationships with staff, and with the ability to manage and prioritise a diverse workload. The ideal candidate will have this range of skills, together with an interest in higher education policy more broadly, including Welsh medium issues, and an ability to work effectively within and across teams, sometimes to tight deadlines.
