Senior Lecturer in International Business Communication

The School of Language and Global Studies wishes to recruit a Senior Lecturer in International Business Communication (IBC) to provide leadership and take day-to-day responsibility for the development and co-ordination of specific courses/modules in IBC, business English, intercultural communication, international business and management within its successful and popular suite of undergraduate and postgraduate degree programmes. In addition, the successful applicant will be responsible for undertaking significant research, knowledge transfer activities and administrative responsibilities as well as providing pastoral and academic support to students.

Substantial recent experience of teaching and coordinating academic programmes in Business English, business/management subjects and/or intercultural communication is essential, as is experience of curriculum design and innovative development in relevant areas. Research experience in international business communication or related areas, together with the experience in applying for external funding are also essential.

The successful applicant will have a PhD (or near completion) in a related field or equivalent research experience as well as an initial TEFL qualification (certificate level or above) and an MA in business English/applied linguistics, professional communication, international business, management or a related field.

The successful applicant will be able to demonstrate excellent presentation and communication skills, practical knowledge of assessment and quality assurance instruments in HE, a successful record of developing flexible and innovative teaching methods and a proven ability to work effectively both individually and as part of a team.
