Lecturer in Film Production

Minimum Qualification
MFA in Film from a recognized University. Professional qualification in Film Production and a body of work in contemporary (digital) motion picture production is highly desirable.

Considerable experience in teaching at the University level and/or in the practice of Film Production at a senior level in industry or in the related environment. Other desirable experience include:

  • a strong publication record and published peer-reviewed research
  • previous graduate supervision experience
  • success and recognition of professional activities

Special Expertise / Area of Concentration
Expertise in New media production, Direction of animated motion pictures and Video game design/production is desirable.

Special Responsibilities

  • teach and research in Film Production courses and modules in the BA in Film
  • develop the courses in Film Production and Applied Aesthetics
  • assist in production supervision of student work in film, and in particular, practice-based research areas that privileges the progression of new media aesthetics
  • assist in research supervision in film, and in particular, in research areas that privilege the advancement of practice and knowledge in areas relating to new media
  • enhancement of the practice-based research/production profile of The University of the West Indies
