This post will be 36 months

This is a Full-time – 100 % full time equivalent

We are currently offering a post for 36 months for a highly talented research associate to work on a project using cutting-edge instrumentation to investigate ATP production and mitochondrial electron transport chain function and metabolism in response to activation of cellular signalling pathways. The candidate is expected to have a PhD in a relevant subject and have in-depth knowledge of mammalian cell culture and molecular biology. They must be skilled in molecular biological techniques, particularly stable knock down, stable transfection and associated techniques, and be able to demonstrate that they can carry out experiments reproducibly and independently. Previous experience of electron transport chain function is not necessary but numeracy would be an advantage. They should have the ability to organise and prioritise laboratory research work, and show that they are able to use computerised methods for data acquisition, analysis and presentation. They should be highly motivated and be able to work independently within a team.

The selection process will include a panel interview.
