Business Planning Associate - Smart Concept Fund ERDF Project

University of Wolverhampton - Faculty of Science and Engineering

This post is temporary until 31st March 2020.

The University of Wolverhampton has been part funded by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) to deliver the Smart Concept Fund, a ‘proof of concept’ grant available to small and medium sized companies (SME’s) and University spin-out companies in the Black Country, the Marches and the Stoke-on-Trent and Staffordshire Local Economic Partnership (LEP) areas.

The Business Planning Associate for the Smart Concept Fund will be responsible for developing business plans for new product development projects - to support companies that are applying for the grants, particularly University spin-out companies.

We are looking for an individual who is confident and capable in developing cashflow models, backed up with experience of researching and collecting the data to justify the commercial assumptions made. You will have skills and experience of writing business plans or commercial analysis reports, and confident in presenting information to an audience of senior staff.

You must be committed to achieving the contracted goals and complying with funder requirements, particularly in areas like procurement, State Aid and ensuring the eligibility of the new product development programmes proposed by SME beneficiaries.

Informal enquiries can be made to: Prof Andrew Pollard, Industrial Professor, Faculty of Science & Engineering via email at or phone on 01902 321763.

The University of Wolverhampton values a diverse workforce and welcomes applications from all sections of the community.
