The School of Electronic Engineering and Computer Science (EECS) is an exciting and dynamic environment and is home to over 750 undergraduate students, 150 postgraduate students, and 220 PhD students and 110 teaching and research staff.

A vacancy has now arisen within the School’s Teaching Services Team to provide administrative support in relation to student activities at the Mile End campus in East London.

In this role you will provide professional support for all taught students in the School of EECS. You should have substantial relevant experience of working in a University environment and must have experience of dealing effectively with people face-to-face with a customer oriented approach. A detailed understanding of student support issues in higher education is essential as well as the ability to work with tact and confidentiality when dealing with sensitive or confidential issues.

The role requires high-level interpersonal skills including relationship building and the ability to work creatively with diverse teams and to communicate effectively using a range of media. You must be able to understand complex issues and problems and deliver practical solutions, working both independently and as part of a team.

The post is permanent and full time and starting salary will be in the range £32,956 - £38,709 per annum inclusive of London Allowance. Benefits include 30 days annual leave, defined benefits pension scheme and an interest-free season ticket loan.

The successful candidate must be available to start by mid-November 2017.

Candidates must be able to demonstrate their eligibility to work in the UK in accordance with the Immigration, Asylum and Nationality Act 2006. Where required this may include entry clearance or continued leave to remain under the Points Based Immigration Scheme.
