We are looking for a motivated and proactive person to become part of the team developing a “location-allocation” analysis tool, for National Grid demountable flood defences, and to take the lead in programming the tool using Python scripts in GIS. You will be expected to work with large datasets, containing flood information and asset information. You will need to be able to show initiative and drive the project, while still being able to fit into a team consisting of academics and industry partners.

You will have a first degree in civil engineering or related course and should have completed, or be close to completing, a PhD in relevant subject. You will also have previous experience of working in a research environment/team.
