The Department of Economics and Finance is a significant part of the College of Business, Arts and Social Sciences. The Department has more than 30 full-time members of staff and approximately 900 students. In the 2014 Research Excellence Framework (REF), the Department’s research output was rated in the top 20 by research intensity by the Economics and Econometrics panel. Successful candidates will support the Department’s ambitious plans for growth.

Applications for this position are sought from candidates with research in any area within Economics. While an interest in teaching in any area of economics is welcome, the Department has a particular need for people interested in teaching Behavioural Economics and Finance, Industrial Economics and Mathematical Economics. You will also be expected to participate in at least one of the College research centres, Entrepreneurship and Sustainability and Global Lives, or a University Research Institute.

Applicants should hold a PhD and possess high quality teaching experience in addition to having a strong research profile.

Excellent support in terms of computer and data facilities, as well as the opportunity for funding for conferences and other direct research costs are provided to members of staff.
