Graduate Building Surveyor (Energy Efficiency)

The University of Salford in collaboration with Electricity North West is looking for a dynamic and ambitious individual to establish a new approach to the management of energy at Operational and Non-Operational buildings.

The aim of the project is to develop an energy efficiency capacity within Electricity North West.

Based in Preston the successful candidate will undertake this 18 month collaboration. Supported by the staff from the company and the academic team from the University of Salford the successful candidate will undertake this scientific research work and will benefit from:
• A dedicated training budget (£1,500)
• Support towards APC
• Opportunity to study for a higher degree (fees paid)
• Academic training and support from world leading Energy House research team at the University

The successful candidate will have a technical understanding of building construction and related energy efficiency issues, as well as experience of preparing technical reports. This project ultimately hopes to provide company employees with the capability to understand the contribution of energy initiatives to the performance of the Company, as the demands of the energy market continue to change.

The successful candidate will receive extensive practical and formal training, gain highly desirable specialist business skills, broaden knowledge and expertise within an industrially relevant project, and gain valuable experience from their commercial and academic mentors. They will also benefit from a Personal Development Budget of £1,500 and will have the opportunity to register free of charge for a postgraduate research qualification.
