The salary will be paid at Grade 6, £33,518 per annum, plus £2,923 per annum London Allowance.

This post will be Fixed Term Contract for 3 years

This is a Full-time position.

Applications are invited for the position of Research Associate in the laboratory of Professor Kinya Otsu. The postholder will focus on mechanisms of development of heart failure by utilizing genetically engineered disease models, miniaturized physiological technology and a range of molecular and cell biological techniques. We are investigating the relationship between cell death and inflammation. Minimum qualifications are PhD and/or MD, with strong expertise in molecular, cellular, biochemical and cardiovascular biology. Good publication history is required. Experience in generation and analysis of in vivo pressure overload-induced heart failure and echocardiography are also recommended. Candidates should be highly motivated individuals with excellent communication skills, and have the ability to work independently.

The selection process will include an assessment, presentation and a panel interview.
