Research and Doctoral College Business Partner

University of Exeter - Research Services

We are looking to recruit a Research & Doctoral College Business Partner’s, to support  the College of Social Sciences and International Studies, to provide the interface between University of Exeter College management and Research Services and the Doctoral College.  The Research Services Directorate is a key enabler to the delivery of the University’s Research and Impact Strategy, a successful next REF submission and meeting research income targets.

The roles

These roles are within the Strategy, Policy and Planning pillar of the Research Services Directorate, which contains in-house experts in research strategy, policy development and planning, the Research Excellence Framework, and engaged research. It also provides the strategic and planning interface between Colleges and Research Services, Innovation, Impact and Business and the Doctoral College. 

About you

You will provide the interface between College management and Research Services and the Doctoral College; ensuring alignment of University and College planning and policy as part of a joint function, within a challenging external context. You will also ensure oversight of the College research portfolio, and are accountable for service delivery on behalf of Research Services and Doctoral College.

You will have:

  • Education to at least first degree level or equivalent experience.
  • Substantial experience with research policy and planning.
  • Communication skills of the highest order and proven experience in creative dissemination of knowledge and expertise through a range of mechanisms.
  • Ability to work within a matrix environment, collaborating effectively with different categories and levels of staff.
