Marketing and Communications Officer

University of Sheffield - Department of Electronic and Electrical Engineering

Working Pattern: 17.5 hours a week

Salary: Grade 6 - £25,728 - £29,799 per annum (pro rata).  Potential to progress to £32,548 per annum through sustained exceptional contribution.

The Faculty of Engineering operates a ‘one-team’ approach to Marketing and Communications. Led by the Marketing and Communications Manager, each Department receives support from a shared resource consisting of Marketing and Communications Officers, Marketing and Communications Support Officers and Apprentices. The team is focused on the communications for core business activity in each Department and is responsible for a number of projects and initiatives that benefit all Departments in the Faculty and the wider University.

You will hold a marketing qualification and have experience of working in a wide ranging communications role with the ability to develop and deliver project plans. You will have a confident and professional manner and the ability to work flexibly, independently and as part of a team.

Reporting to the Faculty Marketing Communications Manager, you will work within the Engineering Marketing Communications team, holding particular responsibility for the leadership of communications activity for the Department of Electronic and Electrical Engineering. You will provide a professional and effective service focused on the promotion of student recruitment, research activity and effective internal communications. Working closely with the Departmental Administration Manager and academic staff, including the Director of Marketing, Recruitment and Admissions, you will hold responsibility for development and execution of the Department marketing plan. 

You will also lead and deliver marketing communications activities to the benefit of Departments across the Faculty and wider University, working closely with Faculty marketing communication colleagues and the Corporate Communications Team.
