Development Research Assistant

The role of our award-winning Marketing, Communications and Development team is to protect and promote the brand and reputation of the University, along with communicating a compelling, consistent and authentic message to a wide range of audiences. Our remit is extensive from corporate communications, marketing, press and event management to alumni and development, design and web development.

Alumni and Development, which sits within the central Marketing, Communications and Development department, works to create mutually beneficial relationships and engagement opportunities between the University and its alumni and key stakeholders, and delivers the University's fundraising and alumni relations strategy.

We are seeking a Development Research Assistant who will play a key role in delivering the University’s prospect research and stakeholder relationship-building strategy, with a view to maximising support for the University's priority fundraising projects.

Working closely with the development team, you will follow internal research processes and provide vital research support for development staff and senior University staff. This is an exciting time to join the University as we deliver our first major fundraising and volunteering campaign, First Generation.

You must have an understanding of individual research tools and processes, profile building and how they can drive relationship building programmes, excellent interpersonal skills and have worked with a specialised customer or supporter database.

You will have experience of conducting strategically focused, detailed qualitative research and be confident in managing multiple tasks to tight deadlines. You should be able to demonstrate proficiency in analytics and data mining, and have experience of working with a specialised customer or supporter database. You must be a highly organised, pro-active person with excellent communication skills.

This is a fixed term role for 12 months.
