Part Time Student Disability Support Work Coordinator - Fixed Term Contract

The University of Bath is seeking to appoint an enthusiastic, part-time Student Disability Support Co-ordinator to co-ordinate support for disabled students, current and prospective, ensuring that all students have access to high quality, student-centred services and that University staff are supported in meeting the needs of disabled students.

This is an exciting opportunity to work as part of a progressive Student Services team to work within an integrated range of quality, evidence-based services.

The role includes working with external recruitment agencies for support workers assisting in the selection and recruitment of support staff, in addition to training, supervision and monitoring of staff.  You will assist in recruitment and training of student volunteers for a social mentoring scheme. The role will also involve working with various student funding bodies, e.g. Student Finance England. 

You will be educated to first-degree level or with equivalent experience and you will have experience, preferably in the Higher Education sector, in co-ordinating support for disabled people with complex needs, experience of working in a service orientated environment and knowledge of disability and inclusion issues.  You will have administration experience, including MIS and data systems. You will also have excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work within a small team to provide the best possible student experience.

Student Services comprises Counselling and Mental Health; Disability; Advice and Guidance; Wellbeing Service; Student Money Advice and Retention services. The post holder will contribute to the development of the service whilst working closely with other Professional Services, Academic Departments and community based agencies.

This post is part time (21.9 hours (0.6 FTE), to be worked over 3 days per week, one of which will need to be a Monday. It is also being offered on a fixed term contract basis, with an expected duration of 2 years.
