The role of our award-winning Marketing, Communications and Development team is to protect and promote the brand and reputation of the University, along with communicating a compelling, consistent and authentic message to a wide range of audiences. Our remit is extensive from corporate communications, marketing, press and event management to alumni and development, design and web development.

We play a crucial role in ensuring that Manchester Metropolitan University’s range of communication materials and activities are fully integrated to maximum effect, reinforcing the University’s brand, reputation and strengths to our internal and external audiences.

You will be responsible for the operational delivery of student and staff-focused communications related to the University’s ongoing change programmes. This may include some engagement with relevant external stakeholders.

The post will be based at the University’s campus in Crewe, Cheshire, but travel to the Manchester campus will be required.

There will be a particular focus on internal and change communications around the planned closure of the Cheshire campus, which will include the creation, updating and implementation of communication and engagement plans for staff and students at the campus. You will develop close working relationships with key Cheshire campus staff, including the Pro-Vice-Chancellor and the Cheshire Transition Programme team, and develop the existing matrix of key external stakeholders.

You will be line managed by the University’s Internal Communications and Engagement Manager, but will be situated within the Change Programme team working closely with the Change Programme Director to develop communications as required relating to any wider change projects. You will work closely and collaboratively with the University’s central Communications and Engagement team, overseen by the Head of Media and Corporate Communications and other key members of the Marketing and Communications Directorate. You will ensure the successful implementation of the communications strategy working cross functionally with the all areas of the University.
