This position offers a unique opportunity for a research scientist to work in an academic, clinical and industry collaboration. The post holder will utilise a combination of technologies and methods to analyse genomic information from cancer specimens, including tissue and circulating biomarkers, in the context of a collaborative project between the Northern Ireland Molecular Pathology Laboratory (NIMPL) at Queen’s University Belfast and RANDOX. This post is available for three years.

The successful candidate must have:

  • A BSc in biology, biomedical science, medical laboratory sciences or related subject.
  • Experience in relevant laboratory experience in a relevant area (e.g. molecular genetics, cancer genomics).
  • Experience with Next-Generation Sequencing technologies.
  • Experience with PCR-based tests (PCR, Sanger sequencing, Pyrosequencing, RT-PCR, Q-PCR, ddPCR, etc.)
  • Recent relevant experience in other molecular genetics techniques.
  • Experience with tissue-based work and clinical samples for molecular analysis.
