The Post

The Faculty of Natural Sciences is seeking to appoint two Lecturer posts as part of an exciting new University of Stirling initiative to strengthen its Computing Science and Mathematics capabilities at the interface between data science and predictive modelling. It will help strengthen collaborations between our Data Science and Biological Modelling research groups and strengthen our related research and teaching. We particularly encourage mathematicians and statisticians to apply for these lectureships.

These two Grade 8 Lecturer posts are part of an exciting new University of Stirling initiative to strengthen its Computing Science and Mathematics capabilities at the interface between data science and predictive modelling through three new posts. It will help strengthen collaborations between our Data Science and Biological Modelling research groups and strengthen our related research and teaching.

We are seeking applicants who have an excellent research record with the potential to be future research leaders. Candidates should therefore have research activity in data science or predictive modelling that align with our Data Science or Biological Modelling research groups. Successful applicants will be expected to significantly boost our activity in this area and will be given the freedom to shape a joint future direction. The University and the Division are keen to see this area flourish.
