Head of School (Nursing and Midwifery)

The Opportunity

In this key leadership role within the Faculty, you will be responsible for managing and leading the School in fulfilment of the University’s strategic and operational objectives. In particular, you will take responsibility for the quality and performance of the School in teaching and learning, research, professional activities and community engagement, the viability and quality of academic offerings and associated student experience, and for planning and aligning School resources and staffing with Faculty and University strategic objectives.

An essential requirement for success in the role is a demonstrated ability to operate at a senior level within the organisation, including a proven capacity to set and achieve goals and work across organisational boundaries to achieve agreed outcomes, as well as the capacity to make and communicate critical decisions and actions to others. You will also be well experienced in providing leadership, supervision, and coaching to staff, and in building high performance teams.

There are approximately 34 full-time academic staff.
