Associate/Assistant Professor

Location: Jubilee Campus

Applications are invited for the above post based at the University's Jubilee Campus. The successful candidate will make a significant contribution to the inter-disciplinary work of the School of Computer Science actively seeking out external research funding and publishing high quality original work, in addition to contributing to the teaching programmes run by the School. They will take on a leadership role in relation to the establishment, integration and development of their specialist research area and undertake work in other areas, such as research student supervision and academic staff administrative responsibilities.

We are seeking candidates with interests and a demonstrable successful research track record in the areas of Embodied Intelligent Systems (Robotics), Cyber Security and/or Computational Intelligence, that may enhance or complement existing strengths in this area (see http://www.nottingham.ac.uk/computerscience/research). The School has direct involvement in the University’s Research Beacons of Excellence (see http://www.nottingham.ac.uk/research) and the successful candidate should be able to demonstrate how they can contribute and collaborate through their research interests to the Smart Industrial Systems Beacon, or others. Candidates must hold a PhD in a relevant area of Computer Science, or closely related discipline. They should also have experience of working on successful research projects and producing high quality publications. Candidates for the senior role should also have demonstrable leadership qualities and experience. 

This is a full-time permanent post.

Starting salary will be within the range:

Assistant Professorship: Starting from £38,833 - £47,722 per annum, depending on skills and experience. Salary progression beyond this scale is subject to performance. 

Associate Professorship, Starting from £50,618 - £60,410 per annum, depending on skills and experience. Salary progression beyond this scale is subject to performance.
